Udang Asam Manis (sweet And Sour Shrimp)

Ingredients
- 500g shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 onion, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 2 tomatoes, cut into wedges
- 3 tbsp sweet soy sauce (kecap manis)
- 3 tbsp tamarind juice
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tbsp vinegar
- 1/2 cup water
- Salt to taste
- Oil for cooking
Instructions
- Heat oil in a pan and sauté garlic and onion until fragrant.
- Add shrimp and cook until they turn pink. Remove the shrimp from the pan and set aside.
- In the same pan, add the bell peppers and tomatoes. Cook for a few minutes until slightly softened.
- Return the shrimp to the pan and add sweet soy sauce, tamarind juice, sugar, vinegar, and water. Stir well to combine.
- Let the sauce simmer and thicken. Season with salt to taste.
- Once the sauce reaches the desired consistency, remove from heat and serve hot.
