Ingredients
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 cups fresh pineapple chunks

- 2 red chilies, thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon tamarind paste
- 2 tablespoons sweet soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground white pepper
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1/2 cup water
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the tamarind paste, sweet soy sauce, brown sugar, salt, and ground white pepper. Set aside.
- Heat the oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the garlic, onion, and red chilies. Sauté until fragrant.
- Add the shrimp to the pan and cook until they turn pink.
- Pour in the tamarind mixture and stir to coat the shrimp.
- Add the pineapple chunks and water. Simmer for 5-7 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Once the shrimp is cooked through and the pineapple is heated, remove from heat.
- Serve the Udang Nanas hot with steamed rice.
