Udmurt Buckwheat Porridge (Гречневая каша)

Ingredients

  • 2 cups buckwheat groats
  • 4 cups water
  • Salt, to taste

Instructions

  1. Rinse the buckwheat groats under cold water.
  2. In a pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil.
  3. Add the rinsed buckwheat groats to the boiling water and reduce the heat to low.
  4. Cover and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the water is absorbed and the buckwheat is tender.
  5. Fluff the buckwheat with a fork and season with salt to taste.
