Udmurt Mushroom and Potato Casserole (Грибно-картофельная запеканка)

Ingredients

  • 500g potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 300g mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 200ml sour cream
  • 100g grated cheese
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in a greased baking dish.
  3. Spread half of the mushrooms and onions over the potatoes.
  4. Season with salt and pepper, then repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, mushrooms, and onions.
  5. Spread the sour cream over the top layer and sprinkle with grated cheese.
  6. Dot with butter and cover the dish with foil.
  7. Bake for 45 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the top is golden brown.
  8. Serve hot and enjoy!
