Ingredients
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 can (20 oz) pineapple slices in juice, drained
- Maraschino cherries
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup milk
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a 9x13 inch baking dish, pour melted butter and sprinkle brown sugar evenly over the bottom.
- Arrange pineapple slices on top of the brown sugar and place a cherry in the center of each slice.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Add softened butter, eggs, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients, then pour in the milk. Mix until smooth.
- Pour the batter over the pineapple slices and spread evenly.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool for 5 minutes, then invert it onto a serving platter.
