Ingredients

  • 500g Usk Valley venison sausage meat
  • 320g ready-rolled puff pastry
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry and cut into 12 equal rectangles.
  3. Divide the venison sausage meat into 12 equal portions and roll each portion into a sausage shape.
  4. Place a sausage of meat onto each rectangle of pastry and roll the pastry around the meat, sealing the edges.
  5. Brush the sausage rolls with the beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  6. Place the sausage rolls on a baking tray and bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the pastry is golden and the sausage meat is cooked through.
