Veg Manchurian
Veg Manchurian is a popular Indo-Chinese dish that consists of vegetable dumplings in a tangy and spicy sauce. It is a delicious and flavorful dish that can be served as an appetizer or as a main course.
Ingredients
- 1 cup finely chopped mixed vegetables (carrots, cabbage, bell peppers)
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup cornflour
- 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- Salt to taste
- Oil for deep frying
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1 tbsp finely chopped garlic
- 1 tbsp finely chopped ginger
- 2-3 green chilies, finely chopped
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup finely chopped capsicum
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp chili sauce
- 1 tbsp tomato ketchup
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 tbsp spring onion greens for garnish
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix together the chopped vegetables, all-purpose flour, cornflour, ginger-garlic paste, soy sauce, black pepper, and salt. Shape the mixture into small balls.
- Heat oil in a deep pan and deep fry the vegetable balls until they turn golden brown. Drain and set aside.
- In another pan, heat 1 tbsp of oil and sauté the chopped garlic, ginger, and green chilies.
- Add the chopped onion and capsicum, and sauté for a few minutes.
- Next, add soy sauce, chili sauce, tomato ketchup, black pepper, sugar, and water. Let the sauce simmer for a few minutes.
- Add the fried vegetable balls to the sauce and toss to coat them evenly.
- Garnish with spring onion greens and serve hot.
