Ingredients

  • 1 kg pork belly, skin on
  • 2 tablespoons Vegemite
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Chinese five-spice powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 160°C (320°F).
  2. Score the pork belly skin with a sharp knife and season with salt, pepper, and Chinese five-spice powder.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together the Vegemite, honey, and minced garlic to make the glaze.
  4. Brush the glaze over the pork belly, making sure to coat the skin well.
  5. Place the pork belly on a wire rack in a roasting pan and roast in the preheated oven for 2 hours, or until the skin is crispy and the meat is tender.
  6. Once cooked, allow the pork belly to rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
