Ingredients
- 2 sheets of puff pastry
- 500g sausage meat
- 2 tablespoons Vegemite
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (390°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
- Roll out the puff pastry sheets and cut each one in half lengthwise to create 4 long rectangles.
- In a bowl, mix the sausage meat and Vegemite until well combined.
- Divide the sausage mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a long sausage shape that matches the length of the pastry.
- Place a sausage portion along the length of each pastry rectangle, then brush the edges with a little water and roll the pastry to encase the sausage, pressing the edges to seal.
- Cut each long roll into 3 smaller rolls and place them on the prepared baking tray.
- Brush the tops of the rolls with the beaten egg to glaze.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes or until the pastry is golden and the sausage is cooked through.
- Allow the sausage rolls to cool slightly before serving.
