Veggie Vegemite Dumplings
These Veggie Vegemite Dumplings are a unique twist on traditional dumplings, combining the iconic Australian spread with a delicious vegetable filling. Perfect for a quick and tasty meal!
Ingredients
- 2 cups finely chopped mixed vegetables (carrots, cabbage, mushrooms, and spring onions)
- 2 tablespoons Vegemite
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 20 dumpling wrappers
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the chopped vegetables, Vegemite, soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, and garlic until well combined.
- Place a small spoonful of the vegetable mixture in the center of each dumpling wrapper.
- Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water, then fold and pleat to seal the dumplings.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large pan over medium heat. Place the dumplings in the pan and cook for 2-3 minutes until the bottoms are golden brown.
- Add 1/4 cup of water to the pan, cover, and steam the dumplings for 5-7 minutes until the wrappers are translucent and the filling is cooked through.
- Serve the Veggie Vegemite Dumplings hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
