Viennese Cheese Strudel (Wiener Käsestrudel)

Ingredients

  • 1 package of phyllo dough
  • 1 cup of cottage cheese
  • 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup of chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1/4 cup of melted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix together the cottage cheese, mozzarella, Parmesan, parsley, salt, and pepper.
  3. Place one sheet of phyllo dough on a clean surface and brush it with melted butter. Repeat with 5 more sheets, brushing each with butter.
  4. Spoon the cheese mixture along the long edge of the phyllo stack, leaving some space at the edges.
  5. Roll up the phyllo, tucking in the edges as you roll, and place the strudel seam-side down on a baking sheet.
  6. Brush the top with more melted butter and bake for 25 minutes, or until golden brown.
  7. Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
