Warak Enab, or Lebanese Stuffed Grape Leaves, is a popular dish in Arab cuisine. These delicious grape leaves are stuffed with a flavorful mixture of rice, herbs, and spices, creating a perfect appetizer or main dish.
Ingredients
- 1 jar of grape leaves
- 1 cup of rice
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup of fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/4 cup of fresh mint, chopped
- 1/4 cup of olive oil
- 1/4 cup of lemon juice
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Prepare the grape leaves by rinsing them under cold water and draining them.
- In a bowl, mix the rice, onion, parsley, mint, olive oil, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
- Place a grape leaf on a flat surface, shiny side down. Place a small amount of the rice mixture in the center of the leaf.
- Fold the sides of the leaf over the filling, then roll it up tightly.
- Repeat with the remaining grape leaves and filling.
- Place the stuffed grape leaves in a pot, seam side down, and add enough water to cover them.
- Cover the pot and cook over low heat for 1 hour.
- Once cooked, remove from heat and let them cool before serving.
