Warak Enab (stuffed Grape Leaves With Rice And Meat)

Ingredients

  • 1 jar of grape leaves
  • 1 cup of rice
  • 250g of ground beef
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, diced
  • 1/4 cup of fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 cup of fresh mint, chopped
  • 1/4 cup of lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup of olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Rinse the grape leaves under cold water and drain well.
  2. In a bowl, mix the rice, ground beef, onion, tomatoes, parsley, mint, lemon juice, olive oil, salt, and pepper.
  3. Place a grape leaf on a flat surface, shiny side down. Place a spoonful of the rice and meat mixture in the center of the leaf.
  4. Fold the sides of the leaf over the filling, then roll it up tightly.
  5. Repeat with the remaining grape leaves and filling.
  6. Place the stuffed grape leaves in a pot, seam side down, and add enough water to cover them.
  7. Place a plate on top of the grape leaves to keep them submerged, then cover the pot and simmer for 1 hour.
  8. Remove from heat and let the grape leaves cool before serving.
