Wasabi Shrimp Fried Rice (Wasabi Ebi Chǎofàn)
This Wasabi Ebi Chǎofàn (Wasabi Shrimp Fried Rice) recipe combines the flavors of Japanese and Chinese cuisine to create a delicious and aromatic dish.
Ingredients
- 2 cups cooked white rice
- 1/2 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1/2 cup frozen peas, thawed
- 3 green onions, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp wasabi paste
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
- Add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes until pink and cooked through. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
- Heat the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil in the same skillet. Add the beaten eggs and scramble until cooked. Remove the eggs from the skillet and set aside.
- Stir in the garlic and white parts of the green onions, and cook for 1 minute.
- Add the cooked rice, soy sauce, and wasabi paste to the skillet. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until the rice is heated through.
- Add the cooked shrimp, scrambled eggs, and thawed peas to the skillet. Stir-fry for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste. Garnish with the remaining green onions.
- Serve the Wasabi Ebi Chǎofàn hot and enjoy!
