Welsh Rabbit Rolls

Ingredients

  • 6 slices of bread
  • 2 cups grated cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup beer
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon mustard powder
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  2. Stir in the flour and mustard powder to make a roux.
  3. Gradually add the beer, stirring constantly until smooth.
  4. Add the Worcestershire sauce and grated cheese, stirring until melted and well combined.

  7. Roll out each slice of bread with a rolling pin to flatten.
  8. Spoon the Welsh rarebit filling onto each slice of bread and roll up tightly.
  9. Place the rolls seam side down on a baking sheet.
  10. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F for 15 minutes, or until golden and crispy.
