Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 4 slices bacon
  • 4 lettuce leaves
  • 4 tomato slices

Instructions

  1. Preheat the stovetop grill or a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Form the ground beef into 4 patties and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Place the patties on the grill or skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes per side, or until desired doneness.
  4. During the last few minutes of cooking, brush the patties with barbecue sauce and place a slice of cheese on each patty to melt.
  5. While the patties are cooking, grill the bacon slices until crispy.
  6. Toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a separate skillet.
  7. Assemble the burgers by placing a patty on the bottom half of each bun, then topping with grilled onions, bacon, lettuce, and tomato. Add the top bun and serve hot.
