Ingredients

  • 2 lbs whale meat, cut into chunks
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 cups tomato puree
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté until the onion is soft and translucent.
  3. Add the whale meat chunks to the pot and brown on all sides.
  4. Pour in the tomato puree and water, then add the paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper.
  5. Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
  6. Once the whale meat is tender and the sauce has thickened, remove from heat and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
