Ingredients

  • 1 head of cabbage
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 can (14 ounces) sauerkraut, drained
  • 2 cups beef broth

Instructions

  1. Boil the whole head of cabbage in a large pot of water for 5 minutes. Remove from water and carefully peel off the leaves. Set aside.
  2. In a bowl, mix together the ground beef, cooked rice, chopped onion, minced garlic, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Place a spoonful of the beef mixture onto each cabbage leaf and roll up, tucking in the sides as you roll.
  4. Layer the sauerkraut in the bottom of a large pot. Place the cabbage rolls on top of the sauerkraut.
  5. Pour the beef broth over the cabbage rolls. Cover and simmer for 1 hour.
