Xian Cai Gu, also known as Steamed Stuffed Mushrooms, is a classic dish from Anhui Cuisine that features tender mushrooms stuffed with a flavorful filling. This dish is a popular appetizer or side dish, perfect for a family meal or a special occasion.
Ingredients
- 12 large mushrooms, stems removed and reserved
- 200g ground pork
- 1/4 cup finely chopped water chestnuts
- 2 green onions, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the steamer over high heat.
- Finely chop the mushroom stems and mix them with ground pork, water chestnuts, green onions, garlic, soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, sugar, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- Stuff each mushroom cap with the pork mixture.
- Place the stuffed mushrooms in the steamer and steam for 15 minutes or until the pork is cooked through.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
