Ingredients

  • 12 chicken wings
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp dark soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp Shaoxing wine
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 2 slices ginger
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 green onions, chopped

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat some oil over medium heat. Add the ginger and garlic, and stir-fry until fragrant.
  2. Add the chicken wings and brown them on all sides.
  3. Pour in the soy sauce, dark soy sauce, Shaoxing wine, and sugar. Stir to coat the chicken wings.
  4. Add the water and bring to a boil. Then reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 45 minutes.
  5. Uncover the pot, increase the heat to medium, and cook until the sauce thickens.
  6. Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
