Xiaolongbao, also known as steamed stuffed buns, is a popular dish in Anhui Cuisine. These delicate and flavorful buns are filled with a savory meat mixture and steamed to perfection.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground pork
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 2 green onions, finely chopped
- 1 tsp fresh ginger, minced
- 1/2 tsp sugar
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix the ground pork, soy sauce, sesame oil, green onions, ginger, sugar, and black pepper until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, combine the flour and water to form a dough. Knead the dough for 5 minutes, then cover and let it rest for 15 minutes.
- Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces and roll each piece into a small circle.
- Place a spoonful of the pork mixture in the center of each dough circle. Pleat and seal the edges to form a bun.
- Place the stuffed buns in a steamer and steam for 15-20 minutes until cooked through.
