Ingredients

  • 4 large apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a large bowl, beat the eggs and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Stir in the melted butter and vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until well combined.
  5. Spread half of the batter into the prepared cake pan. Arrange the sliced apples over the batter. Spread the remaining batter over the apples.
  6. Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the cake is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
