Ingredients

  • 1 lb lamb, cut into chunks
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 tomatoes, diced
  • 2 carrots, sliced
  • 2 potatoes, diced
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, grated
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 6 cups water or broth
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, brown the lamb chunks over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped onion, garlic, and ginger, and sauté until fragrant.
  3. Stir in the diced tomatoes, sliced carrots, diced potatoes, and chopped bell pepper.
  4. Add the cumin, paprika, turmeric, cinnamon, salt, and pepper, and mix well.
  5. Pour in the water or broth and bring the soup to a boil.
  6. Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and simmer for 2 hours, or until the lamb is tender.
  7. Adjust the seasoning if needed, then serve the soup hot, garnished with fresh cilantro.
