Ingredients
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm water
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/4 cup za'atar spice blend
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, and sugar.
- In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm water and let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
- Add the yeast mixture and olive oil to the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Divide the dough into 6 equal pieces and roll each piece into a thin circle.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook each flatbread for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and puffed.
- Sprinkle each flatbread with za'atar while still warm.
