Yemeni Spiced Beef Stir-Fry (Laham Bel-Fateh)

Ingredients
- 1 lb beef, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- 1/2 tsp ground turmeric
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tomatoes, diced
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
- 4 pita bread, toasted and cut into wedges
Instructions
- Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the beef and cook until browned, then remove from the skillet and set aside.
- Heat the remaining olive oil in the same skillet and sauté the onion and garlic until softened.
- Stir in the cumin, coriander, turmeric, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
- Add the tomatoes and cook until they release their juices.
- Return the beef to the skillet and stir in the fresh cilantro.
- Arrange the toasted pita bread on a serving platter and spoon the beef mixture over the top.
