Yong Tau Foo (stuffed Tofu Puffs)
Yong Tau Foo, also known as Stuffed Tofu Puffs, is a popular dish in Cantonese cuisine. It consists of tofu puffs stuffed with a variety of fillings and served in a flavorful broth.
Ingredients
- 12 tofu puffs
- 200g ground pork
- 100g fish paste
- 1 small bitter melon, sliced
- 1 small eggplant, sliced
- 1 block of tofu, cubed
- 4 shiitake mushrooms, soaked and sliced
- 1 bunch of choy sum, trimmed
- 1 packet of rice vermicelli, soaked
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Prepare the fillings by mixing the ground pork, fish paste, soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper in separate bowls.
- Stuff the tofu puffs, bitter melon, eggplant, tofu, shiitake mushrooms, and choy sum with the prepared fillings.
- Cook the stuffed ingredients in a pot of boiling water for 5-7 minutes or until cooked through.
- Meanwhile, prepare the broth by boiling water with soy sauce and salt.
- Once the stuffed ingredients are cooked, transfer them to the broth and simmer for 5 minutes.
- Serve the Yong Tau Foo with rice vermicelli and enjoy!
