Yong Tau Foo (stuffed Tofu Puffs)

Ingredients

  • 12 tofu puffs
  • 200g ground pork
  • 100g fish paste
  • 1 small bitter melon, sliced
  • 1 small eggplant, sliced
  • 1 block of tofu, cubed
  • 4 shiitake mushrooms, soaked and sliced
  • 1 bunch of choy sum, trimmed
  • 1 packet of rice vermicelli, soaked
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the fillings by mixing the ground pork, fish paste, soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper in separate bowls.
  2. Stuff the tofu puffs, bitter melon, eggplant, tofu, shiitake mushrooms, and choy sum with the prepared fillings.
  3. Cook the stuffed ingredients in a pot of boiling water for 5-7 minutes or until cooked through.
  4. Meanwhile, prepare the broth by boiling water with soy sauce and salt.
  5. Once the stuffed ingredients are cooked, transfer them to the broth and simmer for 5 minutes.
  6. Serve the Yong Tau Foo with rice vermicelli and enjoy!
