Ingredients
- 1 block firm tofu, drained and cubed
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
- 2 green onions, sliced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1/4 cup water
Instructions
- In a bowl, toss the tofu cubes with cornstarch until evenly coated.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the tofu cubes and cook until golden and crispy on all sides. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add garlic, ginger, and green onions. Cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Stir in soy sauce, rice vinegar, sugar, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes. Add water and bring to a simmer.
- Return the crispy tofu to the skillet and toss to coat with the sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Remove from heat and serve the Jade Emperor's Fried Tofu hot, garnished with additional green onions if desired.
