Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup shiitake mushrooms, sliced
  • 1/2 cup bamboo shoots, sliced
  • 1/4 cup water chestnuts, sliced
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix together soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, sesame oil, sugar, and white pepper. Set aside.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken breasts and cook until browned on both sides, about 5 minutes per side.
  3. Remove chicken from the skillet and set aside. In the same skillet, add mushrooms, bamboo shoots, water chestnuts, and green onions. Cook for 3-4 minutes until vegetables are tender.
  4. Return the chicken to the skillet. Pour in the chicken broth and the soy sauce mixture. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5-7 minutes until the sauce thickens and the chicken is cooked through.
  5. Serve the Jade Emperor's Delight hot, garnished with additional green onions if desired.
