Ingredients
- 1 whole fish (such as tilapia or trout), cleaned and gutted
- 3 tablespoons Yunnan-style chili paste
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon minced ginger
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 3-4 green onions, cut into 2-inch pieces
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
- Make 3-4 diagonal cuts on each side of the fish.
- In a small bowl, mix the Yunnan-style chili paste, soy sauce, minced ginger, and minced garlic.
- Brush the fish with the chili paste mixture, making sure to get the marinade into the cuts.
- Place the fish on the grill and cook for 10-12 minutes on each side, or until the fish is cooked through and has a nice char.
- In a separate pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat and sauté the bell peppers and green onions until they are slightly softened.
- Transfer the grilled fish to a serving platter and top with the sautéed bell peppers and green onions.
- Serve hot with steamed rice.
