Ingredients

  • 1 block of firm tofu, sliced
  • 2 tbsp Sichuan peppercorns
  • 3 tbsp chili oil
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 tbsp minced ginger
  • 1 tbsp chopped scallions
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Press the tofu slices between paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  2. In a bowl, mix together Sichuan peppercorns, chili oil, soy sauce, minced garlic, minced ginger, chopped scallions, sugar, and salt.
  3. Marinate the tofu slices in the mixture for 10 minutes.
  4. Heat a grill pan over medium-high heat and grill the tofu for 3-4 minutes on each side until charred.
  5. Serve the grilled tofu hot with a side of steamed rice.
