Zadar Maraschino Cheesecake (Zadarski maraschino kolač s kremom)

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 16 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 cup Zadar maraschino liqueur
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 tbsp powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).
- In a bowl, mix the graham cracker crumbs, 1/4 cup sugar, and melted butter. Press the mixture into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan.
- In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese and 1/2 cup sugar until smooth. Add the eggs, Zadar maraschino liqueur, and vanilla extract, and mix until well combined.
- Pour the cream cheese mixture over the crust in the springform pan. Smooth the top with a spatula.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes, or until the center is almost set.
- Remove the cheesecake from the oven and let it cool for 10 minutes. Then, carefully run a knife around the edge of the pan to loosen the cheesecake. Allow it to cool completely before removing the pan.
- In a small bowl, mix the sour cream and powdered sugar. Spread the mixture over the top of the cooled cheesecake.
- Refrigerate the cheesecake for at least 4 hours, or overnight, before serving.
