Ingredients
- 2 cups basmati rice
- 3 cups water
- 2 tablespoons ghee
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Rinse the basmati rice until the water runs clear, then soak the rice in water for 30 minutes.
- In a large pot, heat the ghee over medium heat. Add the cumin seeds and cook until they sizzle and become fragrant.
- Drain the soaked rice and add it to the pot. Stir to coat the rice with the ghee and cumin seeds.
- Pour in the water and add the salt. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes until the rice is tender and the water is absorbed.
- Fluff the rice with a fork before serving.
