Ingredients

  • 2 cups basmati rice
  • 3 cups water

Instructions

  1. Rinse the basmati rice until the water runs clear, then soak the rice in water for 30 minutes.
  2. In a large pot, heat the ghee over medium heat. Add the cumin seeds and cook until they sizzle and become fragrant.
  3. Drain the soaked rice and add it to the pot. Stir to coat the rice with the ghee and cumin seeds.
  4. Pour in the water and add the salt. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes until the rice is tender and the water is absorbed.
  5. Fluff the rice with a fork before serving.
