Zelenyky Zest
Zelenyky Zest is a traditional Ukrainian dish that features delicious stuffed cabbage rolls. This recipe is a perfect combination of savory flavors and hearty ingredients, making it a comforting and satisfying meal.
Ingredients
- 1 large head of cabbage
- 1 lb ground pork
- 1 cup cooked rice
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 1 cup chicken broth
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Carefully remove the cabbage leaves and blanch them for 2-3 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- In a bowl, mix the ground pork, cooked rice, onion, garlic, salt, and pepper. Place a spoonful of the pork mixture onto each cabbage leaf and roll them up, tucking in the sides.
- Place the stuffed cabbage rolls in a large pot. Pour the crushed tomatoes and chicken broth over the rolls. Cover and simmer for 1 hour.
