Zelenyky Zest

Ingredients

  • 1 large head of cabbage
  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Carefully remove the cabbage leaves and blanch them for 2-3 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a bowl, mix the ground pork, cooked rice, onion, garlic, salt, and pepper. Place a spoonful of the pork mixture onto each cabbage leaf and roll them up, tucking in the sides.
  4. Place the stuffed cabbage rolls in a large pot. Pour the crushed tomatoes and chicken broth over the rolls. Cover and simmer for 1 hour.
  5. Serve the Zelenyky Zest hot and enjoy!
