Zen Master's Steamed Dumplings are a traditional dish in Chinese Buddhist cuisine, known for their delicate flavors and peaceful preparation process.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup finely chopped cabbage
- 1 cup shredded carrots
- 1/2 cup chopped mushrooms
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix the flour and water to form a smooth dough. Cover and let it rest for 15 minutes.
- In another bowl, combine the cabbage, carrots, mushrooms, soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, salt, and pepper.
- Divide the dough into small balls and roll each ball into a thin circle.
- Place a spoonful of the vegetable filling in the center of each circle, then fold and pleat to seal the dumplings.
- Place the dumplings in a steamer and steam for 10-12 minutes until cooked through.
