Zen Master's Steamed Vegetable Dumplings are a delicious and healthy dish that originates from Chinese Buddhist Cuisine. These dumplings are filled with a flavorful mixture of fresh vegetables and wrapped in a delicate, steamed dough.
Ingredients
- 2 cups finely chopped cabbage
- 1 cup shredded carrots
- 1/2 cup chopped shiitake mushrooms
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon grated ginger
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 20 round dumpling wrappers
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the cabbage, carrots, mushrooms, green onions, garlic, and ginger.
- Add the soy sauce, sesame oil, sugar, salt, and black pepper to the vegetable mixture and toss to combine.
- Place a small spoonful of the vegetable filling in the center of each dumpling wrapper.
- Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water, then fold the wrapper in half and press the edges together to seal the dumpling.
- Place the dumplings in a steamer basket lined with parchment paper and steam for 12-15 minutes, until the wrappers are cooked through.
