Zi Ran Niu Rou Chao (stir-fried Beef With Cumin)

Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp Shaoxing wine
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 tbsp cumin seeds
  • 3-4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, marinate the beef with soy sauce, Shaoxing wine, and cornstarch. Set aside for 10 minutes.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat. Add cumin seeds and stir-fry for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add minced garlic and stir-fry for another 30 seconds.
  4. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned.
  5. Add the sliced bell peppers and continue to stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes until the peppers are tender-crisp.
  6. Season with salt to taste and serve hot.
