Ziginiya (eritrean Style Tacos)
Ziginiya is a traditional Eritrean dish that is similar to tacos, but with a unique Eritrean twist. It is a flavorful and aromatic dish that is perfect for sharing with family and friends.
Ingredients
- 1 lb beef, thinly sliced
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 tomatoes, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 jalapeño, finely chopped
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp turmeric
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 8 small tortillas
Instructions
- In a large skillet, brown the beef over medium heat.
- Add the onion, tomatoes, garlic, and jalapeño to the skillet and cook until the vegetables are softened.
- Stir in the cumin, paprika, turmeric, salt, and pepper, and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
- Warm the tortillas in a separate skillet or in the oven.
- Fill each tortilla with the beef and vegetable mixture.
