Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 4-5 ripe plums, pitted and sliced
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
- In a large bowl, cream together the sugar and butter until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt; gradually stir into the creamed mixture. Fold in the milk until smooth.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Arrange the plum slices on top of the batter.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
- Cool in the pan on a wire rack. Once cooled, dust with powdered sugar before serving.
