Ingredients

  • 4 large onions
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1 bell pepper, diced

  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cut the top off each onion and carefully remove the inner layers, leaving the outer 2-3 layers intact to create a shell.
  3. In a bowl, mix the ground beef, cooked rice, bell pepper, small onion, garlic, thyme, paprika, salt, pepper, and parsley.
  4. Stuff each onion with the meat mixture, pressing it down gently to fill the onion shell.
  5. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Place the stuffed onions in the skillet and cook for 5 minutes on each side, or until browned.
  6. Transfer the browned onions to a baking dish and bake for 30 minutes, or until the meat is fully cooked.
