Zucchini Gratin (gratin De Courgettes)

Ingredients

  • 4 medium zucchinis, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 cup grated Gruyère cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Place the sliced zucchinis in a large pot of boiling salted water and cook for 3 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute.
  4. Gradually whisk in the milk and cook, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens.
  5. Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in 3/4 cup of the Gruyère cheese. Season with salt and pepper.
  6. Arrange the zucchini slices in a greased baking dish and pour the cheese sauce over the top.
  7. Sprinkle the remaining Gruyère cheese and Parmesan cheese over the zucchini.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.
  9. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
