Ingredients
- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 cup cornstarch
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup rice vinegar
- 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
- 3 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
- Sesame seeds and green onions for garnish
Instructions
- In a large bowl, toss the chicken pieces with cornstarch until evenly coated.
- Dip the coated chicken pieces into the beaten eggs, shaking off any excess.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the chicken in batches until golden and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, rice vinegar, hoisin sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes.
- Pour the sauce into the skillet and bring to a simmer. Add the fried chicken and toss to coat in the sauce.
- Transfer the General Tso's Chicken to a serving dish and garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
