Zwiebelkuchen Quiche

Ingredients

  • 1 9-inch pie crust
  • 4 cups sliced onions
  • 6 slices bacon, chopped
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove the bacon from the skillet and set aside, leaving the bacon fat in the skillet.
  3. Add the sliced onions to the skillet with the bacon fat and cook over medium heat until caramelized, about 15-20 minutes.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, salt, and pepper.
  5. Spread the caramelized onions and cooked bacon in the bottom of the pie crust. Pour the egg mixture over the onions and bacon.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the quiche is set and the crust is golden brown.
  7. Let the quiche cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
