Cabbage Pasta (krautfleckerl)

Ingredients

  • 1/2 head of cabbage, thinly sliced
  • 8 oz. pasta (such as egg noodles or farfalle)
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp caraway seeds
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Boil the pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  3. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent.
  4. Stir in the garlic and caraway seeds, and cook for another minute.
  5. Add the sliced cabbage to the skillet and cook until it starts to wilt, about 10 minutes.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to combine.
  8. Adjust seasoning if needed and serve hot.
