Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 lb ground pork
  • 1/4 cup chopped shrimp
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1 cup glutinous rice
  • 8 dried shiitake mushrooms
  • 1/2 lb Chinese broccoli

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the all-purpose flour and water to form a smooth dough. Cover and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine the ground pork, chopped shrimp, soy sauce, sesame oil, sugar, salt, white pepper, and chopped green onions. Mix well and set aside.
  3. Soak the glutinous rice and dried shiitake mushrooms in separate bowls of water for 2 hours. Drain and set aside.
  4. Blanch the Chinese broccoli in boiling water for 1 minute, then transfer to an ice bath to cool. Drain and set aside.
  5. Roll out the dough into a thin sheet and cut into small circles. Place a spoonful of the pork and shrimp mixture in the center of each circle and fold to seal.
  6. Place the stuffed dough on a plate and steam for 15 minutes.
  7. In a separate steamer basket, steam the glutinous rice and dried shiitake mushrooms for 20 minutes.
  8. Arrange the steamed dumplings, glutinous rice, mushrooms, and Chinese broccoli on a platter and serve hot.
