Kokoda (coconut Crab)
Kokoda, also known as Coconut Crab, is a traditional dish from Tuvaluan cuisine that features fresh crab marinated in coconut cream and lime juice.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs fresh crab meat
- 2 cups coconut cream
- 4 limes, juiced
- 1 red onion, thinly sliced
- 2 tomatoes, diced
- 2 cucumbers, diced
- 2 green chilies, thinly sliced
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the crab meat, coconut cream, and lime juice. Let it marinate for 10 minutes.
- Add the sliced red onion, diced tomatoes, diced cucumbers, and sliced green chilies to the marinated crab mixture. Season with salt and pepper.
- Refrigerate the Kokoda for at least 30 minutes before serving.
